Recipes & Tips
Product FAQs
Is recycled aluminum foil food-safe?
Yes. Aluminum foil made from recycled aluminum is as clean and safe to use with food as foil made from new (also referred to as virgin) aluminum. As with new foil, the process of melting down the recycled aluminum requires heating the metal to more than 1200°F. Once it turns into a liquid the aluminum is sent through a filtration process, cast, cooled and rolled into thin sheets.
Can the recycled aluminum foil be recycled again after use?
Yes, Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil from 100% Recycled Aluminum has the potential to be recycled again.
However, you will need to verify whether your local recycling facility accepts aluminum foil.
Consumers can visit Earth911 for locations of recycling stations or contact your local municipality for more information.
What types of aluminum are used to create Reynolds® 100% Recycled Aluminum?
Reynolds Wrap® Aluminum Foil from 100% Recycled Aluminum is made from post-industrial aluminum.
What are the benefits of buying Reynolds Wrap® 100% Recycled Foil?
The process of producing recycled aluminum foil uses 80 percent less energy than it does to make foil from new (also referred to as virgin) aluminum.
Manufacturing and buying recycled-content products create a circle, or loop, that ensures the overall success and reinforces the value of recycling. The process also produces fewer emissions, including greenhouse gases, and reduces the amount of landfill waste.
Is the packaging also made from recycled materials?
Yes, additional features include: 1) Paperboard – Made from 100 percent recovered paper that is diverted from the solid waste stream, collected, separated, cleaned and recycled for us; 2) Printing Inks – Reynolds uses water-based inks on packaging.
