Take your cake from good to great! Set your next cake up for success with these easy baking tips from Reynolds Kitchens.
Cake Baking
To prevent batter from overflowing in the oven, fill cake pans no more than half full to allow for rising during baking.
To know when your cake is done cooking, insert a toothpick in center. If the toothpick comes out clean, your cake is done. Don't have a toothpick? A wooden skewer or an uncooked piece of spaghetti will work.
Want to add a little boost of flavor to your cake batter? Add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon or flavored extract to either your cake mix or frosting to give it an extra kick.
When it’s time to decorate your cake, use Reynolds® Cut-Rite® Wax Paper underneath the cooled cake. The wax paper catches any excess drops of frosting and sprinkles. Simply remove the wax paper and your cake plate is clean.
